PageUni Countdown Timer (“the App”) helps merchants using Shopify create a sense of urgency and boost conversions by adding countdown timers to their store pages. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and when we might share it when you install or use the App with your Shopify store.
Information We Collect
When you install the App, we collect your shop name and email address. These are used to identify and support your store.
We also access certain types of data from your Shopify account:
- Read theme – to verify that the App embed is enabled.
- Read products – to let you choose which products to display the countdown timer on.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver and operate the App.
- Communicate with you (e.g., support or service updates).
- Improve the App’s performance and user experience.
- Inform you about our offerings, including news, offers, or promotional campaigns related to our products or services.
We process this information on the legal bases described below.
Legal Bases for Processing
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases to process your personal data:
- Performance of a contract: to deliver the App’s services you requested.
- Consent: for optional activities such as marketing communications or non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Compliance with legal obligations: to meet applicable legal, accounting, or regulatory requirements.
- Legitimate interests: to improve, secure, and analyze the App, balanced against your rights.
Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the App’s services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you uninstall the App, we delete the associated personal data within 30 days of receiving Shopify’s shop/redact request, unless we are legally required to retain it.

These providers act as processors under appropriate data protection agreements and process data only on our behalf. A current list of subprocessors is available on request via .
Finally, we may disclose your information if required to comply with legal obligations, such as responding to a lawful request (e.g., subpoena or court order), or to protect our legal rights.
International Data Transfers
We process and store personal data on servers located in the United States (Silicon Valley). Because we serve users globally, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may be outside the country or region where you reside, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. For transfers out of the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and, where the recipient has certified, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. This Privacy Policy and our processing comply with applicable laws, including the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA.
Data Security
We protect personal data with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, restricted access controls, and regular review of our practices. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is fully secure, but we work to minimize risk.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
To improve your experience and analyze how the App is used, we use several types of technologies:
- Cookies: These are small text files stored on your device or computer. They often contain a unique, anonymous identifier. You can learn more about how cookies work and how to manage or disable them by visiting www.allaboutcookies.org.
- Log files: These automatically capture details about interactions with the App, such as your IP address, browser type, referring and exit pages, as well as the date and time of each visit.
- Web beacons, tags, and pixels: These are tiny digital elements embedded in the App that help us understand user behavior and track browsing activity.
- LocalStorage: We also use localStorage in your browser to store timer sessions.
You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out request where applicable. We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data.
EEA, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict the processing of, and port your personal data; to object to processing; to not be subject to automated decision-making; to withdraw consent at any time; and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
United States (CCPA/CPRA and similar state laws): You have the right to know what personal data we collect and how it is used, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate data, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data (we do not sell your personal information), to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Shopify’s standardized approach: Per Shopify’s requirements, we honor these rights for all personal data regardless of where an individual is located.
