PageUni AI Model Photos (“the App”) helps merchants using Shopify generate AI model photos for their products, showcasing merchandise with AI-generated models to enhance store visuals and improve conversion rates. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and when we might share it when you install or use the App with your Shopify store.
Information We Collect
When you install the App, we collect your shop name and email address. These are used to identify and support your store.
We also access certain types of data from your Shopify account:
- Read products – to access your product information and product images so you can generate AI model photos for them.
- Write products – to apply the generated AI model photos back to your products.
- Read files – to access the files in your store’s file library.
- Write files – to save the generated AI model photos to your store’s file library.
Images you submit. To generate AI model photos, you may upload or select product images and reference materials (for example, photos of your products or example models). These images are processed solely to produce the AI model photos you request.
AI Processing and Biometric Data
To generate AI model photos, images you upload (which may depict people) are sent to third-party AI processing services solely to produce the images you request. We do not extract, create, or store biometric identifiers, facial geometry, faceprints, or any template used to uniquely identify individuals. Your images are processed only to deliver the feature, are not used to train AI models, and are not made available to providers for any purpose other than fulfilling your request.
Because some images may depict identifiable people, we treat them with care: access is restricted, and processing is limited to the minimum necessary. Where the GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA, or laws such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) apply, we rely on your consent (as the merchant controlling the content you submit) and your right to request deletion at any time.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver and operate the App, including generating AI model photos from the images you provide.
- Process, store, and display the images you upload or generate through the App.
- Communicate with you (e.g., support or service updates).
- Improve the App’s performance and user experience.

Legal Bases for Processing
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases to process your personal data:
- Performance of a contract: to deliver the App’s services you requested, including processing your images to generate AI model photos.
- Consent: for optional activities such as marketing communications, non-essential cookies, or processing images that may contain special-category data (e.g., identifiable faces), which you can withdraw at any time.

Data Retention
- Uploaded images are retained only for as long as needed to generate your results, and are then deleted.
- Generated images are retained until you delete them or uninstall the App.
- All other personal data is retained only for as long as necessary to provide the App’s services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
When you uninstall the App, we delete the associated personal data within 30 days of receiving Shopify’s shop/redact request, unless we are legally required to retain it.
Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell your personal information. To deliver the AI model photo features, we may share your data with the following categories of recipients:
- Cloud hosting and storage providers that host the App and store your images.
- AI image-processing providers that generate AI model photos from your images, under data processing agreements that prohibit using your images to train their models or for any purpose other than fulfilling your request.
- Payment processing handled through Shopify Billing.
- Service, support, analytics, and error-monitoring tools that help us operate and improve the App.
These providers act as processors under appropriate data protection agreements and process data only on our behalf. A current list of subprocessors is available on request via .
Finally, we may disclose your information if required to comply with legal obligations, such as responding to a lawful request (e.g., subpoena or court order), or to protect our legal rights.
International Data Transfers
We process and store personal data, including the images you submit, on servers located in the United States (Silicon Valley). To deliver the AI model photo features, your images may also be processed by our third-party AI providers, which may be located in the United States or other regions. Because we serve users globally, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may be outside the country or region where you reside, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. For transfers out of the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and, where the recipient has certified, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
